Coaching Overview
Life coaching focuses on helping with stress reduction, self-care, work/life balance, shifting mindsets, breaking bad habits, and overcoming limiting belief systems. Coaching is present, solution focused, and goal orientated. Coaching can also offer a safe place to be heard and listened to. Harnessing in on the unique strengths of each individual in another important aspect of coaching. It is not therapy, as coaching does not focus on significant mental health issues (trauma, suicidality, addictions). Referrals can be made as needed.
Melanie’s Background
While anyone can claim to be a coach, Melanie's background and expertise proves added value for clients. Melanie has a Master of Psychology degree. She has over 25 years’ experience working in the mental health field, a stint in the corporate banking world, as well as extensive training in the coaching field. Although loving the field of psychotherapy and helping thousands of clients over the years, it was important to shift focus for health & wellness and offer greater flexibility and autonomy for both client and coach.
Cost
Dependent upon the service selected via 'Services'
Coaching is not covered under health care benefits. Payment is required at the time of session(s) payable by any major credit card, debit, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay or cash.
Confidentiality
Coaches will only disclose confidential information to third parties with the appropriate written consent. Coaches must disclose certain confidential information as required by law or if the confidential information may put the client or others at risk of harm or compromise their well-being.
Minors and Confidentiality
Communications between coaches and clients who are minors (under the age of 18) are confidential. However, parents and other guardians who provide authorization for their child’s coaching are often involved in their sessions. Consequently, your coach, in the exercise of her professional judgment, may discuss the coaching of a minor client with the parent or caretaker. Clients who are minors and their parents are urged to discuss any questions or concerns that they have on this topic with their coach.
Appointment Scheduling and Cancellation Policies
In-person, phone, and virtual sessions (Zoom) are offered.
To cancel or reschedule an appointment, you are expected to notify your coach at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment. If you do not provide at least 24 hours’ notice in advance, you are responsible for payment for the missed session.

Booking sessions are available online at www.muskokacoach.com or text Mel during business hours.
Emergencies
In the event of a medical emergency or an emergency involving a threat to your safety or the safety of others, please call 911 or the appropriate emergency service to request assistance. Your coach is not licensed to handle these matters.
About the Coaching Process
It is your coach’s intention to provide services that will assist you in reaching your goals. Based upon the information that you provide to your coach and the specifics of your situation; your coach will provide recommendations to you regarding coaching. Coaches and clients are partners in the coaching process.
